Scientific literacy an individual’s understanding of scientific concepts, phenomena and processes, their ability to apply this knowledge new and, at times, non-scientific situations. The science Indonesian students is still low as seen from the results PISA test long Indonesia participates in program. One learning model that can improve students' implementation Reading Learn (R2L). R2L a strategy be applied by teachers train reading skills with aim increasing literacy.The purpose study was determine effect on about addictive, additive psychotropic substances. This type research quasi-experimental carried out posttest only control group design. conducted SMP N 29 Padang. sample 31 student experiment class 27 class. Science data subject collected multiple choice arranged based indicators. Realiabity instrument very high category. hypothesis testing using independent t showed significance value smaller than alpha, 0.000 <0.05, so had positive literacy.
